Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) v1.0

The Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) is an open-access package specifically designed to provide a standardized method for measuring development of children up to 36 months of age at population and programmatic level globally. The GSED measures (Short Form and Long Form) capture child development holistically through a common unit, the Developmental score (D-score).

WHO guidelines on parenting interventions to prevent maltreatment and enhance parent–child relationships with children aged 0–17 years

Child maltreatment is a global public health problem. It can have detrimental and long-lasting effects on the development and health of children and occurs most frequently at the hands of parents and caregivers. These guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations on parenting interventions for parents and caregivers of children aged 0-17 years that are designed to reduce child maltreatment and harsh parenting, enhance the parent-child relationship, and prevent poor parent mental health and child emotional and behavioural problems.

Strengthening implementation of home-based records for maternal, newborn and child health: a guide for country programme mangers

The World Health Organization recommends the use of home-based records as a complement to facility-based records for the care of pregnant women, mothers, newborns and children in order to improve care seeking behaviours, men’s involvement and support in the household, maternal and child home care practices, infant and child feeding, and communication between health workers and women, parents and caregivers.

Nurturing Care Practice Guide

The Nurturing Care Practice Guide is designed for managers and service providers who are responsible for or provide health and nutrition services for young children and their caregivers at any level. It responds to requests from practitioners and country teams who have learned about the Nurturing Care Framework and want to understand how to adapt health and nutrition services to be supportive of nurturing care and strengthen caregivers’ capacity.

The World Health Organization and UNICEF in collaboration with partners have developed the Nurturing Care Handbook. Like the Nurturing Care Framework, the Handbook is organized around five strategic actions. 2022 Annual Members' Survey Report
