Sierra Leone has shown impressive commitment and progress in accelerating maternal, newborn, and child mortality reductions. The country, in 2023, launched its National Child Survival Action Plan (2023-2025) which, under the broader RMNCAH strategy and existing priorities for maternal and newborn survival, laid out priority actions, milestones and targets to address the key causes of under-five mortality through an integrated primary health care approach.

The CODES study was a randomized controlled trial showing how the use of data for evidence-based planning, district health management training and community empowerment can strengthen health systems and deliver better child health outcomes.

The report investigates caregivers' practices and health providers' support for nutrition counseling during and after childhood illness.
The Institutionalizing iCCM subgroup hosted a webinar to present findings from a survey of community health workers' experiences in Zambia. As part of an effort to better understand the community workforce providing malaria community care management (CCM) and surveillance in Zambia, the PATH Malaria Control and Elimination Partnership in Africa (MACEPA) along with Tulane University conducted the survey in 2019.
